wedding: photoshoot

We decided to have our photoshoot the day after the wedding for 2 reasons:

1. Following the English tradition, SJ was not allowed to see my dress till i walk down the aisle. So, we cannot do the photoshoot before the wedding day. Which suits us just perfectly, because we love the build-up to the element of surprise and anticipation on the actual wedding day.

2. We want to fully enjoy, relax and soak it all in on our wedding day. Thus, the day after give us another opportunity to relive that magical moment by donning our attires once again, as well as allow us not to worry about getting any dirty (i.e. just in case we fall into the paddy fields!)

We love all the photos taken during the photoshoot, and we cannot help but smile and laugh when we look at these photos. It was just pure fun for us - we loved every second of it, and it just shows on all the photos.

I hope you have all enjoyed the clips from our wedding day and photoshoot. Thanks for all your wonderful congratulatory messages and well-wishes.

wedding: ceremony and dinner reception

It was truly a surreal moment when i walked down the 'aisle' (which comprises of lots of steps!) with my dad to the song that SJ and i picked for my bridal procession.

The weather was hot and toasty, the songs were perfect (SJ and i are so proud of all the music we picked for the wedding day), the guests looked beautiful and the setting was gorgeous. What more can a girl ask for on her wedding day?

The champagne flowed while guests snacked on strawberries with chocolate dip for the pre-dinner reception. I think all of us were happily drunk from champagne at the end of the night. The entire wedding was casual and intimate. The lovely villa staff even helped us prepare a screen on bamboo poles to fit in with our outdoor setting. Of course, to end off the wonderful dinner the Chinese way, we did the yum seng. We must have woken up the entire village.

SJ and i had our wedding photoshoot done the next day. Photos coming up!

Jac: thanks! it was awesome indeed! why don't you let me know what you'd like (drop me an email) and we shall correspond from there? thanks!

Bria: hi there glad to know you have been following my blog for a while! Yes, the venue was perfect, although it is not in Singapore. My wedding was held in Bali.

Anonymous: that is not the ban.do piece - i wore the ban.do piece for my photoshoot so watch out for the photos coming up next.

zsixshutter: thank you! we did not have huge number of guests, so the wedding tree works perfectly for us.

wedding: preparations

We were lucky to have an amazing venue for our wedding.

On the morning of the wedding, SJ and i were busy with our own preparations (Following the English tradition, we did not see each other from the night before the wedding till the actual ceremony). He wrote his speech, drank whiskey with the blokes, had a massage, got the red packets ready and just soaked in the moment. I sat by the pool and played with the kids, had breakfast with the family, chilled out and then went to get ready 3 hours before the ceremony. It was simply relaxing and magical, though i was so nervous i felt knots in my tummy.

I'll share photos of the ceremony next!

1st homecooked meal as husband and wife

We had our first home-cooked meal as husband and wife - lasagna for dinner accompanied by a bottle of champagne leftover from our wedding. It was great cooking for just chilling out with the Mr and reminiscing about the fantastic wedding we just had. We could not wish for anything more - everything just fell into place and it was perfect.

I will be sharing some photos from the wedding soon once they are ready. We cannot wait to see them.

Yen, May & melly: thanks for all your well wishes! we had a fantastic time!
